“You want to get mad?”

This is great! Scott reposted Christian Struzan’s critique of that group I like to call “teabaggers”.
YOU WANT TO GET MAD? We had eight years of Bush and Cheney, but now you get mad! You didn’t get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President. You didn’t get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy. You didn’t get mad when a covert CIA operative got ousted. You didn’t get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.. You didn’t get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us. You didn’t get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war. You didn’t get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq. You didn’t get mad when you found out we were torturing people. You didn’t get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans. You didn’t get mad when we didn’t catch Bin Laden. You didn’t get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed. You didn’t get mad when we let a major US city drown. You didn’t get mad when we gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich. You didn’t get mad when, using reconciliation; a trillion dollars of our tax dollars were redirected to insurance companies for Medicare Advantage which cost over 20 percent more for basically the same services that Medicare provides. You didn’t get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark, and our debt hit the thirteen trillion dollar mark. You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all okay with you, but helping other Americans… oh hell no. AND NOW YOU’RE MAD !
I’m reposting my comments here:
Scott, this summarizes my beef with the teabaggers. Why — suddenly — they’ve found their voice! Listen to them for a minute (that’s difficult I know) and you’d think our country’s problems started on 20 January 2009.
I think that hurt somebody’s feelings:
First of all, I "liked" that stop blaming GW thing ONLY because I was sick and tired of seeing almost all of my friends "liking" the other one.

Secondly, anyone who says "teabagger is either an ass or an idiot.

I thought I could just ignore this bullshit but I guess I can't so I'm finished. I'll continue to check your blog. Have a nice life.
Notice how this person refered to Obama as “the other one”? Why not just let loose! I bet $5 they call him a nigger among fellow teabaggers.

I just had to reply:
Wow, it’s turned into a flame-fest here! I see some find “teabagger” offensive. Perhaps I should have said “Patriots”, “Real Americans” or “Concerned Citizens”. But really, why not? (Look! A TEABAGGER!)

Stuff like this is the reason I have — for now — given up on day-to-day politics. One party had control of Congress for over a decade. “Elections matter,” some say. Yes they do. “We the people” didn’t like what they were up to and voted that party out of power.

What’s ironic is that I’m all for a more efficient government, lower taxes and respect for all individuals. What I’m not for is “drown[ing government] … in the bathtub”, cutting taxes for people earning more than six figures and only respecting certain classes of people.

I’ve been mad for long time. It’s pathetic that an African-American president has “woken the people up”. The “tea parties” have been full of extremists and racists. Sane, rational people protest. Teabaggers threaten to kill elected officials. The Tea Party is a fucking joke. If one finds that offensive, then re-read “You want to get mad?” above.
Another of Scott’s friends chimed in:
In fact, we've heard from the Tea Party many times before. They are Goldwater's "extremists in the defense of liberty," Nixon's "silent majority" and Gingrich's "angry white males." They storm the ramparts whenever a Democrat is in power and then melt away when their job, inciting anger against any non-Republican with the temerity to actually win...
And… that’s all I have to say about that.
